Young Scotland in Mind is a network of voluntary sector organisations that aims to foster a culture of working and learning together in order to promote the mental health and wellbeing of all children and young people in Scotland.
The voluntary sector makes a considerable contribution to the positive mental health and wellbeing of thousands of children and young people through the provision of a wide range of services. Through the work of highly skilled paid staff and volunteers we are able to reach children and young people in a variety of settings, often where statutory services are unable to.
This visionary forum brings together voluntary sector organisations to communicate more effectively, build on collective strengths, and influence the development of policy and practice.
Led by Barnardos and funded by HeadsUpScotland, YSIM has been welcomed by the voluntary sector and presently has representatives from over 70 organisations across Scotland, and continues to grow.
The forum welcomes employees from ALL voluntary sector organisations and non-governmental organisations in Scotland to join and membership is FREE.

• Provide a means whereby HeadsUpScotland and other agencies can consult with the voluntary sector on children and young people's mental health and well-being.
• Provide opportunities for the voluntary sector to share activities and good practice on children and young people's mental health and well-being.
• Identify mechanisms and systems whereby the sustainability and further development of this forum can be taken forward.
• Develop a database of voluntary sector organisations whose work pertains to children and young people's mental health and well-being.
• Identify and define further tasks for the future.
